2011-12 ECNL Player Identification Program- Scouting
Once again in 2011-2012, the ECNL Player Identification Program will be scouting players during games at the ECNL National Showcase Events. ECNL Scouts will be objectively evaluating players for consideration in either (i) the 2011-2012 ECNL Conference Combines (a new program launched this season), or (ii) the 2011-2012 ECNL / id2 National Training Camp. (See the ECNL website for more information on last year’s National Training Camp, including details on the performance of the ECNL Team selected at the National Training Camp to go to Europe this summer.)
The ECNL Player Identification Program is designed to provide a process to identify players for consideration in youth national teams that does not add additional financial and time burdens on elite players.
To assist with the player identification process, every team is asked to prepare a Scouting Schematic prior to their game for use by the ECNL scouts. The document should show the starting line-up in the game, as well as the substitutes. Every player’s first and last name, jersey number, and birth year, should be shown on the sheet. A sample schematic that has been properly completed is attached for your reference. While not every game at the event will be scouted, it is important that every team have a schematic ready at every game in order to make the scouting process easier. The sample scouting schematic has been completed to provide an example of a properly completed schematic.
More details on the ECNL Conference Combines and the National Training Camp will be provided by early November 2011.
